feeling very much unsatisfied + intrigued, i went to google for the answer. guess wut i've found out..?!
In April 2009, Penn told Entertainment Weekly Magazine that the writers killed off his character on "House M.D." (2004) because he had asked to be allowed to leave the show to go work for the Barack Obama Administration as the Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Liaison. He was being accepted a position as the associate director in the White House's Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs.
"I got to know the President and some of the staff during the campaign and had expressed interest in working there, so I`m going to be the associate director in the White House office of public liaison. They do outreach with the American public and with different organizations. They`re basically the front door of the White House. They take out all of the red tape that falls between the general public and the White House".
He admitted the change from TV star to public servant would be a hit to his wallet, saying: "Oh, yeah. There`s not a lot of financial reward in these jobs. But, obviously, the opportunity to serve in a capacity like this is an incredible honor."And he`s not ruling out a return to acting. "Who`s to say where any path leads? I still have a passion for it. But for the time being, I won`t be acting."
well...definitely better than acting. this is wut i call actor with brains!
p/s: im truly sorry for wut have been written in my previous post. the idiocy was totally not coming from the director, but from me instead. i was over the top. its just that the way they ended kutner's character was a bit too "sudden". anyway, the series is still my forever fave ;)
